About Dr. Sparks
Dr. David Sparks, MD is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with decades of experience delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, Dr. Sparks has spent most of his life in and around the Nashville area, giving him a deep understanding of the community he serves.
He earned his medical degree from the Quillen-Dishner College of Medicine at ETSU in East Tennessee and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Jackson-Madison General Hospital in West Tennessee. Following his residency, Dr. Sparks became board-certified in Family Medicine and ran a successful practice in Greenbrier, just north of Nashville, for 20 years.
After two decades in Family Medicine, Dr. Sparks sought new challenges and opportunities to practice “hands-on” medicine, which led him to work on the Hualapai Indian Reservation in Arizona and later in Urgent Care Medicine across multiple locations, including Bermuda, North Carolina, and Chattanooga. His extensive experience in both primary care and urgent care allows him to provide comprehensive, high-quality care for patients of all ages, from routine wellness visits to acute illnesses.
Dr. Sparks returned to the Nashville area to be closer to his three children and nine grandchildren, bringing both professional expertise and a personal commitment to his patients’ well-being. He is dedicated to preventive care, chronic disease management, and building long-term relationships with patients, helping them live healthier lives at every stage.
